Did you know that Halloween is the 2nd most decorated holiday of the year?
Christmas, of course, being the MOST decorated. I personally don’t do a whole bunch of Halloween decorations now that my kids are grown and prefer to spend my money and crafting time on Fall decor but lots of people are so excited for this spooky haunted time of year to arrive each October. Amazon has some great options for inexpensive Halloween decorations here if you aren’t in the DIY mood.
I have wandered the web looking for Halloween recipes and fun fall crafts for you to explore. There are quite a few healthy(ish) recipes listed below as well as some easy family-friendly craft and party ideas.
Make sure to have trick-or-treaters favorite candy on hand too Hershey’s Candy Assortment with Hershey’s Milk Chocolate, Whoppers, Kit Kat and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Skittles/Starburst Fun Size Mix. There are even Pumpkin Peeps now for Peep fans that don’t want to wait until Easter Halloween Peeps Sugar-Free Marshmallow Pumpkins. I can’t stand eating candy corn but I love to have it on hand for decorations (like filling up a jar with a votive candle in it) or to use for decorating Halloween cookies and crafts here are some Candy Corn or Jelly Belly Gourmet
Hellraiser Housewife has this yummy adult cocktail for your grownup party using this tri-color candy… Candy Corn Martinis! Yes, please!!
My friend Jen Goode at 100 Directions has some great free downloadable graphics for you to explore. I just loved this Subway art project that is super simple and inexpensive for a more “sophisticated” Adult Halloween party but she has many other fantastic spooky ideas on her website as well. All of the downloads and directions for this project are here.
We loved these glow in the dark spooky labels for your wine and “Spirits” bottles too.
If you have a lot of empty wine and liquor bottles (not that I do or anything) you might want to make your own potion bottles and candle holders like these.
Potion bottles with Downloadable labels from KansasSunrise on Etsy
If you are into something a little creepier, my friend Barb has teenagers who like to scare the snot out of their neighbors, so take a look at some of their ideas here!
Oops! Need a last-minute Halloween costume idea? Mary Francis at DenverParent.net has you covered with ideas here and here.
Spider Chocolate Chip Cookies.. – As seen on Pinterest. The image doesn’t seem to link to any directions but this looks straightforward enough. Bake your favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe and then while the chips are still hot, take a toothpick to drag out the “spider legs”.
