Touchdown Turkey Bites Easy Recipe

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 chopped tomato (or left over salsa)
  • 1 jar Frank's Hot Sause (any variety)
  • 1 jar BBQ Sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 loaf whole grain bread
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Plain Greek Yogurt

  1. Pre-heat oven to 300 degrees
  2. Brown the turkey in a big skillet over medium heat. I prefer cast iron but anything will work
  3. Add tomato after the turkey is starting to brown.
  4. As soon as the turkey is brown stir in 2 tablespoons of hot sauce and 2 tablespoons of BBQ Sauce
  5. Reduce heat and cover
  6. Take your loaf of bread and either stack 2 or 3 pieces on the cutting board and cut each slice into a football shape or use your kitchen shears and do them one at a time. The second method takes longer but your footballs look a little nicer.
  7. Spread your footballs on your baking sheet
  8. Scoop turkey mixture in the center and top with grated cheese
  9. Bake at 300 for 7 minutes Check to see if cheese has melted and gotten that nice caramelized top.
  10. Pipe Yogurt on each football to make laces just before serving and serve with Yogurt or sour creem on the side
