Dr. Oz 200 calorie snacks to help you with cravings before meals. America’s favorite doctor says adding these healthy snacks to your diet will help you lose 8 lbs a year. Check out these high volume low calorie food recipes.
Pita Pizza Snack
- 1 mini 100% whole wheat pita pocket
- 1 oz of 2% reduced fat mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp pasta sauce
- 1 cup spinach
- 2 onion slices
I love using a toaster oven to make quick pizzas like this.
Skinny Dip and Chips
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1tsp walnuts
- black pepper
- 1 tsp hot sauce
Serve with cherry tomato & blue potato chips
Cheesy Apple Sandwich
- 1 cored apple (slice apples so that you have a round slice with a hole in the middle)
- reduced fat ricotta cheese
- sliced almonds
Take on slide of apple the “frost” with ricotta cheese and sliced almonds top with another slice of apple.
2 tbsp Unpopped kernels – place in paper lunch bag, close top and pop in microwave. Sprinkle in your favorites of the following spices.
- 1 tbsp grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp chives
Open bag and enjoy.
Peanut Butter and Banana Quesadilla
Tortilla spread with peanut butter and sliced banana’s sprinkle with cinnamon.
Fold, slide and eat.
No Bake Chewy Chocolate Truffle
- 5 dried dates
- 11 dried apricots
- 1 cup raw cocoa powder
- 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp agave nectar
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut
Place dates and apricots in the food processor with vanilla, agave nectar and pinch of salt. Roll into truffle sized balls and roll in your choice of raw cocoa powder or unsweetened shredded coconut.
