We have found that garage sales are pretty much the best thing ever to find great buys on pet supplies and toys.
The manufacturing standards for kids toys are MUCH higher than for our furry friends so I find there is less to worry about and more money to spend on the food and yummy’s. Anyway, Friday we headed out to see if we could find some balls for Dobby, he’s our 72 pound Lab / Coonhound mix rescue pooch. There is NOTHING better than a ball in his opinion and there can never be enough balls in his world.
Dobby Dog has the sweet disposition of a Lab with the smarts of a Hound and of course, both of these breeds love the water and we wanted to get him a pool to splash around in. He has a funny habit of liking to clean all of his toys.. if they get too muddy or God forbid I’ve missed a spot with the pooper scooper in HIS yard, then his toys MUST be dunked and thoroughly cleaned in his water dish.
I saw this Little Tykes turtle sandbox/kiddie pool for only $4.. SCORE.. so I brought it home thinking I was possibly the best dog mom ever.
Dobby, of course, came out to investigate what I had gotten and to scout the front yard for bunnies.. he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw I was filling up something with water…. You can see what happens in my iPhone video here.. I know.. I wish it was regular format too, but I didn’t know he was going to be so silly.
Does your dog use his toys as intended? Or is my dog just a whack-a-doo?
